A stunning rendition of Tappa in Rāga Khamaj on sitar by genius music maestro Budhaditya Mukherjee accompanied on tabla by percussionist Soumen Nandi. Tappa is a form of indigenous semi-classical vocal music that utilize melodious tunes expressing emotional highs and lows. The cadence of the lyrics and pace of the rendition defines a particular type of style also known as gayaki. Hailing from a gayaki lineage of renowned sitar maestros, Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee is able to express the extent of possibilities of playing tappa on a stringed instrument.
